Term 2 – Week 6 – Wednesday 5th June 2019

Last Friday Mr Miller, Mr Turner and Miss White took 37 Year 5 and 6 students to Jelbart Park, Lavington to compete in the AFL Paul Kelly Cup. The girls and mixed teams played a variety of schools across the regio  improving with every game. The boys played equally well winning their first three games and progressed to the semi finals. Although they did not win, they all played well and displayed great sportsmanship. All students should be pleased with their team spirit, skills and efforts

Term 2 – Week 4 – Wednesday 22nd May 2019

Each and every week there are countless examples of people within our community doing things for others. That’s what healthy communities do, they look for ways they can help others, they look for ways they can improve the lives of others, they recognise goodness and celebrate these actions, they put others first and themselves last and they don’t seek recognition for what they do.

Term 2 – Week 2 – Wednesday 8th May 2019

“Learning without reflection is a waste. Reflection without learning is dangerous.” (Confucius) School holidays are different in all our families. Holidays have always been an opportunity to stop, slow down and reflect. We didn’t do too much in the holidays as I was preparing for the Melanoma March. While doing many kilometres around the streets and tracks of Albury, it gave me a lot of time to reflect on the year so far and the near future

Term 1 – Week 10 – Wednesday 3rd April 2019

Often when children find things difficult they don’t have the words to express this feeling. We may hear “I’m bored” or “ This is stupid” or “ I don’t want to”. We need to encourage them to persevere, to help them over the hurdle. As children, we know the hurdles are often small. As adults, however, the hurdles can be at times overwhelming and life-changing. Children need to have learnt the skills and mindset to approach these challenges with a strong, never-ending problem-solving approach before hurdles become larger.

Term 1 – Week 4 – Wednesday 10th February 2021

Holy Spirit School Community is genuinely a special place. It’s positive climate, energy and spirit is unique and enhanced by it’s great sense of school community. This is evident through great academic and sporting results as well as tracking of school performance data. We are just as proud of our wellbeing focus and the emphasis on the broader aspects of educating young people. Skills, interpersonal development, values, attitudes and dispositions are just as important as content knowledge.

I hope you have had a relaxing break and enjoyed the beginning of the 2021 school year. It is great to see so many smiling faces enter the school gates again this year. Term 4 – Week 8 – Wednesday 2nd December 2020

On Wednesday 25th November, we celebrated NAIDOC week beginning with a Welcome to Country and Liturgy. The students then enjoyed various activities throughout the day, learning about Indigenous culture and traditions.
