Term 3 – Week 6 – Wednesday 28th August 2019

It is a wonderful experience to see something that takes your breath away. It may be a beautiful night sky, the majesty of a mountain, the might of the ocean or the music of a dawn chorus. We call this emotion ‘awe’ and researchers have discovered that feelings of awe can actually make our bodies and minds healthier and stronger.

Hi, we are Leigh and Sherrie McGlynn and we are the owner of GJ Gardner Homes in Albury and are excited to sponsor the Sally Sells Seashells School Musical. We are new to Holy Spirit; our daughter Blaise commenced school here last year And is now in Year 5 and youngest daughter Halle is in Kindergarten in which they have settled in well and love the school.

Dear families,
Welcome back to our third term, and our second semester. It was great to be able to welcome everyone into school last week and I have been hearing about all the students’ holiday adventures. Holidays are a great opportunity to not only recharge the batteries but also a time to reflect on the year thus far. One of the great joys I experience is seeing the smiling faces of the students

Term 2 – Week 10 – Wednesday 3rd July 2019

Dear Families,
Tomorrow you will receive Semester One Reports for all students from K-6. This year’s report will be a different format that has been implemented across all schools in the Wagga Wagga Diocese. Accompanying this newsletter is an explanation of the new reporting format from Catholic Education Diocese of Wagga Wagga. As advertised, each household needs to login to the Compass Parent Portal to book a Parent Teacher Interview and access your child’s Semester One Report tomorrow (Thursday, 4th July).

Term 2 – Week 8 – Wednesday 19th June 2019

Every year the students are offered the opportunity to challenge themselves by sitting the University of New South Wales Maths and English Competitions. The assessments are based on the curricula for the relevant year. Students are asked to demonstrate a deeper, integrated, and thorough level of learning. To ensure an engaging and beneficial experience for all students, new ICAS assessments are developed annually.

Yesterday Holy Spirit School celebrated Harmony Week with a beautiful liturgy in the hall run by Year 3. The students then completed a range of activities and lessons to celebrate and recognize the different cultures and traditions in our school and community. A great day was had by all!
