Term 1 – Week 4 – Wednesday 10th February 2021

Holy Spirit School Community is genuinely a special place. It’s positive climate, energy and spirit is unique and enhanced by it’s great sense of school community. This is evident through great academic and sporting results as well as tracking of school performance data. We are just as proud of our wellbeing focus and the emphasis on the broader aspects of educating young people. Skills, interpersonal development, values, attitudes and dispositions are just as important as content knowledge.

Term 1 – Week 2 – Wednesday 3rd February 2021

I hope you have had a relaxing break and enjoyed the beginning of the 2021 school year. It is great to see so many smiling faces enter the school gates again this year. It is a privilege to work in our school community, and we look forward to working with you throughout the year ahead. A warm welcome is extended to everyone.

Term 4 – Week 8 – Wednesday 2nd December 2020

On Wednesday 25th November, we celebrated NAIDOC week beginning with a Welcome to Country and Liturgy. The students then enjoyed various activities throughout the day, learning about Indigenous culture and traditions.

Term 4 – Week 6 – Wednesday 18th November 2020

Our experiences in 2020 will be ones that live with us for the rest of our lives. We have heard this year being described as a year of challenge and we have also heard this year as being an opportunity to grow and reflect. As I have said many times throughout the year, as a Principal, I cannot be any prouder of all members of the Holy Spirit School community with how they have coped with these many challenges.

Holy Spirit School’s core purpose is to provide the best possible catholic education for all students. As a collective of staff and parents, we should always be aspiring to provide the children of our school with opportunities to grow closer in their relationship to Christ.

Kindness – I had the privilege of teaching Year 1PV on Friday afternoon, where our focus was on the importance of kindness. A clip that the students watched was about kindness and the  importance of paying forward.

There will always be moments in our lives that drain, flatten or even disappoint us. There are always moments that surprise and energies us, giving us a surge of pride. On a daily basis, our students allow us the privilege to see the positive spirit at play at school and beyond.

We especially welcome the new families to our school. This week we welcome 13 new students in Years 1-6. Another 53 smiling Kindergarten students began their exciting Holy Spirit journey with us yesterday.
